When your heart opens to reconnection, love finds you everywhere—in every smile, every blue sky, every animal that crosses your path.

The Synchronicity That Saved My Life
By nineteen, my life was quietly falling apart, unconsciously running from the grief I hadn’t yet faced, numbing and escaping with food, alcohol, and drugs. Before Mum died, I was a straight-A student who dreamed of becoming a vet. But I stopped showing up as much after she died and I didn’t get into vet school; I got into business school instead. From there, everything slid downhill.
I stopped going to class. I stopped studying. The drugs and partying were getting the better of me. By the end of the year, I barely made it to my exams, some I didn’t show up for at all. I was even evicted from the house I shared with friends because we were behind on rent. Everything that once felt solid was slipping away because I wasn’t showing up I was shutting down.
Then one morning during finals, something happened I’ll never forget. I was running late to an exam, so late I was sure I’d miss it. But on the five-mile bus ride there, every single light turned green.
Every. Single. One.
It had never happened before, and it’s never happened since. But in that moment, I knew it was Mum. It felt like she was right there, moving the lights, moving the world, just to say, I’m with you. Keep going.
That bus ride changed something in me. It was the first time I felt real hope again. Even though it would take years before I was ready to truly grieve her, that moment of synchronicity became my lifeline, a small, quiet miracle reminding me that love was still guiding me, even when I couldn’t see it. And it did become my way of connecting with her, until I was ready to really face my pain and reconnect our relationship.
The Synchronicity that Led Me to Ellie
Ellie was another one of Mum’s synchronicities.
I got an email from a rescue about a dog with the same neurological condition as Fenix. The subject line mentioned she was a “Queenslander.” I’d never heard that term used for a dog before, but it immediately caught my attention, because I’m a Queenslander too, from the state in Australia where that breed, the Australian Cattle Dog, originated.
Because she had the same condition as Fenix, I thought I could share her story on his platform, hoping one of his followers might adopt her. The rescue said she wasn’t doing well and needed out of the shelter as soon as possible. So I went in to film her, just to help. But as soon as I saw her, I said, “Oh dear.” Not because she looked helpless (she did). And not because she needed love (she did). But because something deep inside me knew. It was a feeling I can’t fully explain, but I knew she needed to come home with me.

Of course, everyone told me not to do it. I already had too much going on. It was truly the worst possible timing. I had family in town and plans that made adopting another special-needs dog seem impossible. But my intuition was clear. So I followed my Huge Heart instead of the logic of my mind, or the many opinions around me. I said yes. And every step that followed confirmed it: Ellie wasn’t random. She was divine design.
Pay Attention to Synchronicity
So yes, I pay attention to synchronicity. In moments of unexplainable coincidence, I listen. Not necessarily to do anything, but to notice.
The term synchronicity was coined by psychologist Carl Jung to describe meaningful coincidences, moments that feel connected, even though there’s no obvious cause linking them. He believed synchronicity is how the unseen world communicates with us, through timing, symbols, and events that mirror what’s happening in our hearts. That’s been my experience too. And when it happens, I pay attention. Big time.
Dr. Gabor Maté teaches that when we habitually suppress our emotions, especially from childhood, we also disconnect from our gut instinct and intuition. When we push down our feelings to stay “strong” or to just “get through it,” we lose touch with our inner compass, the part of us that knows (see References: Suppressed Emotion Disconnects Us from Instinct and Intuition).
I know Mum was guiding me to Ellie, because Ellie is the daughter I’d been waiting for. And I know that if I hadn’t released so much of the heavy emotional baggage from my past, if I hadn’t allowed myself to grieve, I wouldn’t have been able to notice that email, trust that nudge, or follow my heart. All those tears, all that inner work, made it possible to hear the whisper that said, Go meet this dog. And not just hear it, but trust it.
More importantly, when I saw Ellie for the first time, I felt through every cell of my being that I needed to take her home. I heard it, and I had the courage to follow it, even when everyone around me was urging me not to.
Intuition isn’t some mystical power reserved for the spiritually gifted. It’s a natural ability that strengthens the more we feel. The more we honor our authentic emotions, the clearer our inner guidance becomes. So if you’re wondering how to trust yourself, how to know what’s real, how to follow the signs, start by feeling what you feel. Start by honoring your grief. Because every tear you allow is a doorway to your inner knowing. And your Rainbow One will meet you there.
Bridging the Divide
There’s something that happens after we lose a beloved animal that transcends reason. It’s quiet. Mysterious. Often subtle. And it begins when we stop grasping to hold on, we let go, and start softening into something deeper: trust.
And then… signs begin to appear. Feathers in places they shouldn’t be. A breeze through the window just as you think their name. Toys under couches you’ve already cleared. A dog in a wheelchair who looks just like your baby. A whisper of a song, or a number that follows you all day. Something that is coincidental, even impossible, and with it comes a sense of inner knowing or meaning.
If we’re willing to be open, to feel and pay attention, synchronicities become a bridge to sharing life again with your Rainbow Ones. They aren’t here to be analyzed, they’re here to be felt. If we let it, our feelings of grief strip us down. They soften our defenses and usual way of living armored up: all perfect, polished and protected. It might look like we’re a mess, but we’re actually much more connected within: to the unseen world within. And that’s where our Rainbow Ones live now, in the unseen.
Forgiveness Clears the Lens
Before we dive into the magic, I want to share something tender but true. If you’re still holding harsh blame, toward yourself, someone else, or even life itself, it can be hard to notice the signs and synchronicities that are trying to reach you. When our inner world is filled with judgment, guilt, or shame, it’s like a fog that can cloud the soft, sacred frequencies of love that synchronicity travels on.
That’s why the last chapter matters so much. Forgiveness clears that fog. It helps us see and feel the loving that’s always been at the heart of every experience. Because until we forgive ourselves, even just a little, it can be hard to fully feel the miracle of the ongoing relationship we have with our Rainbow Ones.
Finding the Signs in All the Stuff
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard from clients, something like: I just want them to send me a sign. And then in the very next breath, they’re in tears over finding one of their toys under the sofa. Every time you find something of your beloved animal’s, it is a sign. A practical, powerful invitation to connect. Every time you think of them out of the blue, it is a symbolic and meaningful connection.
We want magic. We want skywriting. But most of the time, signs are woven into the ordinary. That half-used bag of treats? That’s a sign. That muddy blanket or torn leash? Yep, that too. If we treat these everyday moments as invitations, they become sacred. And ironically, the more we engage with the practical signs, the more mystical the universe becomes.
Let every item become a portal for reconnection. A chance to remember. To feel. To ask.
Ask your Rainbow One what they’d like you to do with each thing. Talk to them. Let yourself hear their voice back. Whether you keep, give, toss, or transform, it’s all sacred. There’s no rush. No timeline. And absolutely no wrong way. Just moments. Invitations. Opportunities to be with their love.
Ask Your Rainbow One for a Sign
If you want to strengthen your connection with your Rainbow One, ask for specific signs. You can be specific, like a feather, a butterfly, a song, or open-ended: Show me something only I would recognize.
Now get into the habit of truly paying attention. Write down at least one sign every day. Even if it feels like you’re making it up. Or feels like a real stretch. Keep the channel open by honoring it with your presence. You don’t need to know if it’s “real.” You only need to ask, notice, and feel. And write something down every day.
At the end of the day just scan your day and notice. If what pops into your mind in that moment is looking a the blue sky outside, trust that your Rainbow One sent you that beautiful blue sky, the kind you shared so many together. If it feels like you didn’t receive anything at all, just scan the day and allow whatever your mind goes to to be the sign. Maybe you think of a particular client you had a conversation with. Or a meal you had. Don’t analyze it. Just trust it. Write it down and feel and be curious.
It’s the act of being open, of writing something down every day and just paying attention to the feelings that come with what’s going on. And at the end of the day, even if you feel like nothing happened and you just wrote something down that’s completely made up and ridiculous–thank your Rainbow One for it anyway. And ask them to help you receive the sign more easily tomorrow.
The More You Credit, The More You’ll See
Sometimes the signs are subtle. Sometimes they’re startling. And sometimes… they’re just sitting quietly under your couch, waiting for you to notice. At the heart of this practice is a courageous kind of trust—the trust to credit what you find as an expression of their loving.
The courage to say: This blue sky might be a hug from them. This dog I just bumped into might be a message from them. This experience is about giving yourself permission to have those eyes. To shift your perception in a way that is generous, soft, and kind, one that gives you the benefit of the doubt. One that lets the universe conspire for your joy, your healing, your connection.
And here’s the real magic: This isn’t just a shift that helps you feel closer to your Rainbow One. It’s a shift that helps you feel more connected everywhere. Because we are connected. Not just to the ones we love. To everyone. To everything.
Many physicists, Einstein among them, believe that all matter and energy are part of a single, unified field. In everyday terms? We’re not separate. We’re not alone. We’re all waves in the same ocean. The truth of Oneness isn’t just something you think. It’s something you feel. It’s a quiet knowing that lives in your chest: We belong to each other. We always have. And from that knowing? A deep sense of meaning begins to grow.
Now, to the mind, it might sound foolish to think: This breeze is a kiss from them. Bumping into this stranger’s dog is a message from them. But honestly? Forget what sounds foolish. This world is wildly, beautifully unexplainable. So take the leap. Start believing that life is infused with their love, not empty of it. Start noticing the invisible threads. Because the more you credit… The more you’ll see.
Service Strengthens the Signal
One of the quickest ways I’ve found to connect with Ellie again… is to love another animal. It can be a powerful way to lift ourselves into the higher vibration where our Rainbow One now lives.

So if you’re feeling disconnected, or if you’re craving more signs, consider:
Since Ellie passed over, I’ve started going to our local humane society almost every week to film adoptable dogs, sharing their stories online to help them find homes. It’s become one of my favorite parts of the week. Grievealing her opened me to a whole new level of connection with animals. I see them more clearly now, their intelligence, their emotions, their soulfulness. That closeness has given me the courage to step forward as an advocate, to use my voice not just for the ones I’ve loved, but for all beings who deserve freedom and compassion.
I’ve begun volunteering with vegan and animal rights organizations like Mercy For Animals, and it feels like an extension of the love Ellie awakened in me, the courage to show up, to do hard things, to say what’s unpopular but true.
When we allow our deep love for our animals, and for all animals, to flow into service, something beautiful happens. By offering our time, energy, and compassion where it’s needed most, we begin to sense the deeper rhyme and reason of life. The divine design. The quiet synchronicities weaving everything together.
It’s Not About Proof, It’s About Permission

Are you willing to start to seeing all of life… as the miracle it is?
What if every single thing in your life has been set up precisely and perfectly? As painful as it is, what if your grief, your childhood, your relationship challenges, every single moment has been guiding, begging, asking you to pay attention? To wake up more to this connection to the unseen world of Love within?
The following Guided Experience is here to help you not only recognize the ways your Rainbow One may already be reaching out, but to actively invite more connection, more magic, and more meaning into your everyday life.
Whether you’re stubbing your toe, thinking of them in the meadow, or noticing some seemingly impossible coincidence, this practice helps you tune in, activate your Huge Heart, and awaken your intuition. It invites you to see every whisper of memory, every item they left behind, and every ordinary object as a potential portal to Love.
This isn’t about forcing something to happen. It’s about allowing the essential nature of your Huge Heart to awaken more fully, the part of you that has never been out of touch with your Rainbow One. Let this be your sacred space to connect. To listen. To ask. To thank. And to grow your trust in what’s already here, and what’s still to come.
This gentle practice helps you reconnect with your Rainbow One through signs, synchronicities, and the everyday magic around you, turning ordinary moments into sacred communication and intuitive connection.

1. Set a Positive Intention for Healing
Write down your healing intention that includes the phrase for the Highest Good, along with anything that supports what you most want to experience.
2. Breathe and Be In Your Body
Use some natural, slow or somatic breathing.
3. Connect in your Rainbow Sanctuary
Close your eyes and arrive in your Rainbow Sanctuary. Invite your Rainbow One to join you. Let yourself feel their presence—maybe a hug, a moment, a message. Just be together. Let the love lead.
4. Honor the Signs Received
Write about and thank your Rainbow One for any signs and loving messages you’ve already received. No matter how small or ordinary they might seem, honoring these signs helps build your trust in the connection. And yep if nothing comes to mind, make it up. (There will be a divine reason you make up one thing and not another. Try it and see what happens…)
5. Getting the Signs in the Stuff
Look around your home. Is there something of theirs that keeps showing up? A bowl, a blanket, a collar? Choose one item to write about.
Write your responses to the following:
