You don’t need to do anything. You don’t need to share. You don’t need to have your video on. Just being present is everything. And you will be invited to share, to turn your video on, to participate.
You can leave anytime. You don’t need to worry about anyone else’s feelings. If you need to turn off your video, or leave the call you can for any reason. If you do leave the call prior to the end of the session, Zoe will reach out via email to check in with you.
What's shared here stays here — fully. That includes later. If someone shares something with the group, don't bring it back to them afterward, even gently, even with good intentions. They may have needed to say it once, fully, and let it go. Handing it back to them — even as care — can undo that. Let people's words belong to the moment they spoke them.
No commenting on others’ sharing. Unfortunately we don’t have the time for commenting on what others’ share. You can share your comments and love in the chat.
Share your love in the chat. You're welcome to comment there — but hold the advice-giving. This isn't a room for fixing each other. It's a room for witnessing each other.
When someone else shares and you meet them with empathy, kindness, and real presence, you're not just supporting them — you're healing something in yourself. Activate that heart energy for them. It moves through you too. This is one of the quiet gifts of doing this in a group instead of alone.
Your healing book will become one of the safest, most sacred, but also most miraculous places in your life. Get used to writing down anything and everything throughout this journey.
When others are sharing, simply notice what happens inside you. It can genuinely feel as though you are feeling their pain with them. And when you are already carrying your own grief, another person’s suffering can feel incredibly intense.
Our nervous systems are deeply responsive to one another. We can resonate with someone else’s emotion, and their story can awaken feelings, memories, sensations, or unresolved experiences within us. But we are not literally experiencing their exact internal emotional state. So rather than needing to shut those feelings out, see if you can gently turn toward what is happening in your own body. Allow it. Make space for it. Breathe with it. Meet it with kindness and love.
When someone else’s sharing activates something in us, it can become an opportunity to lovingly meet emotion that may have been waiting for our attention. And when we can stay present with that emotion, without judging it or pushing it away, something can begin to soften and move. That, too, can be a powerful part of healing.
When someone else is sharing, notice if a judgment rises up in you — weak, pathetic, stupid, talks too much, cold, too much, not enough. Whatever it is.
These judgments aren't the truth about the other person. They're old rules you learned a long time ago — rules about what you were and weren't allowed to be, or else. Don't cry too much, or else. Don't need too much, or else. Don't feel this deeply, or else.
You're here, in part, to find those rules and set them down. Every judgment that rises in you while someone else is speaking is a doorway to a rule you're ready to release.
You don't have to arrive healed, or certain, or good at any of this. You just have to arrive. We'll do the rest together.
We’ll each have a few minutes, to share 1 win and 1 challenge.
A win is anything you can acknowledge and thank yourself about for how you’ve been showing up. It’s so important to learn how to focus on our little wins, and to expand in our loving support, gratitude and acknowledgment of ourselves.
Challenges also need to be acknowledged. Naming them, accepting them and sharing them can be so healing and give us the love and compassion we need to meet our challenges and to alchemize them into healing. [Adversity Alchemy: adversity or challenge + Love and compassion = growth and healing]
You can share any love, comments of support in the chat, but we don’t have time to share or comment on each others’ sharing.
Take some time to write down and connect to your intention.
