Allow your feelings to have a voice.

Next we’re going to treat our feelings as if they are their own unique little being or part of us. Just like a cartoon character, or a small child, within us.

We’re going to let our feelings have a completely free and uncensored voice.

We allow our ‘Blue broken aching heart’ or the ‘Red raging eyes’ or the ’Anxious silver hurricane of fear’ to have a voice.

“The more room you give yourself to express your feelings, the more room there is for your wisdom to emerge.” Marianne Williamson

This is the trickiest part. And at first it’s going to feel like we’re making it up… but that’s ok. Just trust that there’s a perfect reason why you would choose to make these particular words up, and not others. And if the feeling changes into a different feeling, a different voice … go with it.

And our emotions may want to say what’s NOT true. It’s critical to allow this energy to express no matter if it’s true, real, whatever. It’s just energy that is begging to be released. Better out than in!

It also helps to start with having the feeling express what it is. If you’re feeling blue, broken and sadness in your heart, start by saying:  “I am blue. I am broken. I am aching. I am… ”

And then not from your head, but using your feelings as the source of your words and expression, keep allowing your feelings to express.

<aside> ✏️ This part is BEST done in writing.

For example, you can write the feeling and then give it a voice: Blue broken aching heart – I am blue. I am broken. I am aching. I am so bruised and battered. I am broken into a million pieces and no one loves me and no one cares…

Keep expressing until you feel still, or somewhat silent within: like these parts inside are complete and have shared all that they needed to.
